One of our great retailers in Oakland is Manifesto Bikes. We went over this morning and said hi to Mackay and her husband who own the cool shop on 40th street. They have a some great selection of bikes including Linus and Public. Felt great talking to Mackay about their mission and how Alite fits into their shop.  Look for our packs in their store.

Oh man, Friday night Movie Night was so fun you guys. Sports Basement folks–you’re amazing. Shaun, your vintage popcorn machine was so key. And I’m envious of the lucky one who gets to go on a Wild Food Walk c/o forageSF. Snacks were housed, laughs were shared, people snuggled in our Winnebago tents, and no one fell out of their Monarch Chair.

Lookbook is Grant Cutler and Maggie Morrison, Minneapolis-based indie/electro/experimental music masterminds. Alite sponsored their three-week summer tour through the pacific northwest, and down the coast, with gear for camping along the way. Grant says, “Honestly, one of the highlights was hanging out in San Fran and meeting y’all. We’ve been talking the shit out of your products, and everyone seems particularly impressed with the tantric prints, and the fact that you can zip the sleeping bags together. The tour went great, although 100 hours in the car in three weeks is a bit too much.”

In keeping with our respect for handmade goods, we took a field trip to Kelly Malone’s workshop this month to brave sewing machines! Even in a factory, someone’s behind the craft. The sewing lab in our space is almost all set up; perfect for prototyping, side projects and collabs, Bag Therapy, and limited edition runs. One day we’ll look as graceful as Cori…le sigh.
